Meet our new project manager: Jozef Ferencz
Albion Languages welcomes Jozef Ferencz to our Bratislava team. In this post, we ask about his background, his love of languages, and what he is looking forward to as a project manager at Albion Languages.
Tell us a bit about yourself!
I received my MA in Translation and Interpreting (English and French) from Comenius University in Bratislava. As an undergrad, I spent a semester in Reims, France, a beautiful French city with royal connections. It was there that I began to understand the benefits of knowing a foreign language.
What languages do you speak, and why do you enjoy learning languages?
My native language is Slovak, and I speak Czech, English and French. I am fascinated by the way languages can open your mind to discovering a new culture.
What inspired you to pursue a career in the translation industry?
I would say that I have always had an affinity for languages and the pursuit of this career came very naturally during my university studies. I’m also fascinated by how much you can learn about different subjects while translating.
What do you hope to gain from working at Albion Languages?
I hope to gain experience in project management, strengthen my communication skills, and enrich my knowledge of languages. In addition, I am looking forward to being part of a great and positive team!
In your opinion, what skills are needed to be a good project manager?
I believe that a project manager must be able to efficiently organise his time, communicate effectively and professionally, and work well in different languages.
Now for some fun questions! Can you tell us a surprising, random fact about you?
I have starred in, and co-written, two plays at my university student theatre.
What do you like doing outside of work?
I like playing football and any sport really, watching films, listening to music, and travelling.
