Meeting Localisation Leaders at LocWorld Dublin 2016
The localisation industry is alive and well in the 21st century. We play our part in that by embracing new technologies, from CAT tools to project management programmes. Yet, it is clear that the success of our industry depends on keeping the human touch. Translation agencies, freelancers, tech programmers, and clients all need to work together to develop the position of localisation on the global market.
With this in mind, Albion Languages recently attended LocWorld, a key conference for the localisation industry. From June 8-10th, our managers Alistair Binks and Peter Marton, participated in discussions on localisation theory and methodology at Dublin’s stunning Convention Centre. Attendees from all over the world met and shared valuable know-how in more than fifty presentations, on topics ranging from translation technology to localisation management. Each presentation, such as Capita TI’s, “The Game Must Go On: Supporting Always On Localization at EA Games”, offered advice on how to expand the translation industry in a world of globalisation and ever-advancing technology.
Albion Languages was thrilled to be able to meet translation and localisation colleagues from all over the world, and have the chance to introduce themselves to potential partners.
