Leadership team

Knowing who you’re working with matters, so we’re delighted to introduce our team.

Roles and responsibilities

As the founder and CEO of Albion Languages, Alistair has lived and breathed every second of the company’s upward development over the last 20+ years. He is actively involved in strategic matters, solution design, business development and looking after the company’s loyal clientele.

Education

MSc in European Business and Languages (London South Bank University)

BA(Hons) in French Language and Literature (Newcastle University)

About Alistair

Away from the world of translation, Alistair mostly spends his free time in family fun, at concerts and plays, exploring around Europe and out and about on two wheels.

Roles and responsibilities

Present in the company from day one, as CEO/CFO, Peter is responsible for keeping finances ship shape at Albion Languages. He looks after bids and quotations, keeping one eye on vendor finances and the other on sales and revenue. He’s also involved in business development and HR.

Languages

  • English
  • French
  • Hungarian

Education

Having entered the job market earlier than planned, Peter picked up his ‘higher education’ on the job. Less fond of diplomas or degrees, university isn’t his thing. He has accumulated enough snippets of knowledge though over the past 20+ years to give him a steady hand when needed.

About Peter

Alongside his interest in the translation business, Peter runs a small publishing house focused on French literature and artists books. Reading, films and the arts take up the majority of his free time, while he’s also open to exploring and understanding social tendencies old and new with an interest in human rights.

She spent 5 years at the University of Szeged, where she graduated with a Master’s degree in German Language and Literature with Secondary School Teaching Qualification. About Ágnes

She has always been passionate about her mother tongue and foreign languages and, to her greatest satisfaction, her job offers opportunities on a daily basis to live out and develop this passion. She enjoys creating high-quality texts, analysing grammatical, terminology and stylistic issues and improving her vocabulary and content knowledge in a range of topics. As the team leader, she is appreciative of her team members. She likes the fact that they support and motivate each other in their daily work, with all of them happy to share their experience and ideas. She feels very fortunate to be able to work with such excellent linguists and people.

Roles and responsibilities

As Vendor Manager, Éva is responsible for keeping contact with our Hungarian and foreign partners, freelancer translators and language service providers alike. Her daily tasks include recruiting, testing and onboarding new vendors, updating data of existing suppliers, and supporting PMs in choosing resources and IDs for a given project.

Languages

  • English
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Hungarian

Education

Éva graduated with a BA in International Communications at the College of Foreign Trade, majoring in English and French. By that time, she had already obtained the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, following her high school year in the United States. She enjoys getting familiar with languages, so she took up Spanish and Arabic as an adult, and quite recently, Italian, enabling her to communicate with locals whenever she visits these countries.

About Éva

Eva has always been passionate about juggling with words, so she complemented her freelance EN-HU translator skills by adding a bit of travel journalism and copywriting. In her free time, she still enjoys taking up smaller projects, giving a hand to those not so familiar with wording their own website or products. When not by the laptop, she enjoys gardening and hiking with her dog and family.
